Having ventured from Melbourne to the splendid French Alps for a gourmet retreat, my stay at Relais Bernard Loiseau was an exquisite culinary journey that left an indelible mark on my palate.The delicately crafted dishes at the restaurant, inspired by Burgundy and Auvergne, with a dash of flavors from Chef Bertron's native Brittany, transported me to a realm where each bite was a symphony of taste. Indulging in a stopover in Saulieu, savoring a Michelin-starred dinner at La Côte d'Or and a night at this Relais & Châteaux gem, was a true gastronomic delight.Accompanied by a half bottle of Amour de Deutz and the pastry team's delectable chocolates, the experience was elevated to sheer decadence. The exceptional selection of Burgundy wines, meticulously paired with each course, underscored the culinary prowess of the establishment.Embracing the subtle and flavorsome gourmet cuisine in one of the hotel's elegant dining rooms, alongside Burgundy's extensive wine cellar, was a revelation in fine dining. The restaurant, nestled in the heart of Beaune, exuded sophistication and charm, making each dining moment truly memorable.
